New routes to Southampton and Madeira will be launched from Belfast International Airport.

According to a statement published on BelfastAirport.com, the Southampton route will be launched by easyJet on 29 October of this year and operate three times weekly, while the Madeiran route will be launched by Jet2.com on 4 November next year and operate once per week.

The statement published on BelfastAirport.com quoted managing director Graham Keddie as saying, “Southampton is a pivotal addition to the overall easyJet network from Belfast International Airport. The inclusion of this route further enhances our GB network coverage, bringing the total number of UK destinations served to 16 on high-frequency services.
“The introduction by Jet2.com of a new winter route to Madeira is also to be welcomed. The addition of these new routes further increases the number of direct destinations available from Belfast International Airport, underlining our commitment to provide a greater destination choice to the local market.
“Both easyJet and Jet2.com are key strategic partners at Belfast International Airport, and we look forward to working closely with them in the future, to further develop their presence here.”
Belfast International Airport Welcomes Launch Of New Ryanair UK Base
The aforementioned follows news from earlier this year that Belfast International Airport is welcoming back Ryanair with a two-aircraft base, operating over 140 flights a week to 16 routes across Great Britain and Europe, including Budapest, Milan, Barcelona, Paris, Alicante, Malaga, Faro and Valencia.
