Aer Lingus has announced that it's adding two new routes and 350 extra transatlantic flights to its schedule this winter.
The new routes will run from Dublin to Miami and Dublin to Bilbao. The former route will operate three times weekly from September 1st, while the latter service previously operated exclusively during the summer and will now also run three times weekly throughout November, December and March.
According to The Irish Independent, the airline's expanded winter schedule will see the addition of 300,000 seats to its services, with 194,000 of these being spread out across short-haul routes around Europe, including an extra early morning service from Dublin to London.
Aer Lingus also intends to increase its transatlantic traffic by 13%, with capacity on its Dublin to Toronto route alone being boosted by 96%.
Company COO Mike Rutter stated, "This winter is our biggest yet, with considerable expansion of our long-haul and European networks. The increasing recognition that [our] Dublin hub is the fastest, cheapest and least hassle way to visit North America is underpinned by a further 13% increase in transatlantic seats from Dublin this winter."
