Aer Lingus has recorded a €45 million operating profit before exceptional items for last year, which compares to an operating profit before exceptional items of €276 million in pre-COVID-19 pandemic 2019.
Capacity And Losses Before Exceptional Items
According to a statement published on MediaCentre.AerLingus.com, Aer Lingus reached 2019 capacity levels in the fourth quarter of 2022, and experienced €95 million losses before exceptional items in the first half of last year, but these were offset by a €139 million operating profit before exceptional items in the third quarter of 2022 and followed by a €1 million operating profit before exceptional items in the fourth quarter.
New People, New Aircraft And SAF Agreements
The statement published on MediaCentre.AerLingus.com also noted that close to 1,000 new people were welcomed into 2022 Aer Lingus last year, the airline took delivery of two Airbus 320 neo aircraft in 2022, and it signed two Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) agreements last year.
