Aer Lingus will be receiving up to €11.4 million over four years following an agreement to continue flying between Hartford, Connecticut, and Dublin.
As reported by The Irish Times, the US state's department of economic and community development has agreed to pay Aer Lingus as much as $13.3 million, or €11.37 million, over a four year period for renewing the service that started two years ago.
Agreement Terms
A similar deal in 2016 saw the department pledge to pay Aer Lingus up to $4.5 million per year if revenue fell short of a set amount. Under the new agreement, the guarantee reduces from $4.5 million to a maximum of $3.8 million in the second year, $3 million in the third and $2 million in the fourth, amounting to a total of $13.3 million.
