International Airlines Group chief executive Willie Walsh has revealed that Aer Lingus is considering as many as ten American cities as potential new destinations from Dublin Airport.
According to The Irish Times, IAG operating profits were up over 20% to €1.45 billion for the nine months ending on September 30, 2017. In the wake of this data's publication, Walsh announced that the planned purchase of eight Airbus A321 Long Range craft by Aer Lingus opened up the possibility of the airline launching routes to ten new American cities within the next half decade.
Walsh stated, "It is unlikely that we would operate to all ten, some would be competing with each other, but we are out there talking to airports that could be served."
