Aer Lingus Regional has revealed that it is currently on track to ferry more than 86,000 passengers on its Donegal to Dublin and Kerry to Dublin services in 2017.
According to The Irish Times, the company that runs the routes for Aer Lingus, Stobart Air, has grown passenger numbers on the Donegal service by 52% in the last year, with the number of travelers on the Kerry service increasing by 35%.
Approximately 51,00o people availed of the Kerry to Dublin route in the twelve months to the end of October 2017, while 33,516 travellers flew between Donegal and Dublin during the same period.
Commenting on the increasing success of the services, Stobart Air managing director Graeme Buchanan said, "We are pleased to see passenger numbers increase so significantly in a relatively short period of time. For these rural regions, a link to the capital means more opportunities for work and business, and more ways to stay connected with friends and family."
