Fáilte Ireland has crowned 80 tourism workers "Dublin Champions" after the group completed a dedicated workshop and guided walking tour that is aimed at ensuring visitors receive a 'first class experience' when visiting Dublin.
The programme, launched in May, is the latest initiative developed by Fáilte Ireland and consisted of teaching the 80 workers about some of Dublin's hidden stories and experiences, as well as a comprehensive understanding of what the city can deliver. It is mainly tailored for front of house hospitality staff and to work alongside the “Dublin: A Breath of Fresh Air” brand.
Explaining the initiative, Mark Rowlette from Fáilte Ireland, said: “Visitors rely on the recommendations and advice given to them by front of office staff and the Champions Programme seeks to ensure that across Dublin’s tourism businesses, tourism staff can are spreading the right message and ensuring each visitor is enjoying Dublin to the maximum. Knowing how to cross sell and motivate visitors to experience all that the city and county has to offer will ensure visitors leave with a lasting impact of their time here in Dublin.”
More hospitality members will receive training in the future as there will be another “Dublin Champions” programme scheduled for the Autumn.
