Ireland has been promoted to top French group travel operators in Paris at a B2B tourism event called Irlande à Paris.
The workshop and networking event was organised by Tourism Ireland and saw 60 French group travel operators meeting, and doing business with, tourism companies from Ireland. It provided a platform for the participating companies, which included hotels, visitor attractions and destination management companies, as well as air and sea carriers, to secure a greater share of group tour business from France.
"Delighted"
Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s manager Southern Europe, commented, "We are delighted that so many key decision-makers from the group travel sector in France took the time to meet with our tourism partners from the island of Ireland to hear about our fantastic tourism offering and the many opportunities for group travel to Ireland.
"2018 was the best year ever for tourism from France to Ireland, when we welcomed about 564,800 French arrivals. For 2019, we are rolling out an extensive programme of promotional activity in France to build on that success and, in particular, to encourage more French holiday-makers to explore our regions and less-visited attractions during the shoulder and off-season months."
