Three Restaurants Served With Closure Orders in November

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) forced three restaurants to close in November following violations, and the HSE successfully prosecuted one Dublin restaurant.

Two closure orders were served under the FSAI Act, 1998 while one restaurant closed under EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs Regulations). The three businesses were:

- Ming Court Restaurant, Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15
- Pizza House, Kilmacow, Kilkenny
- Ming Court Restaurant, Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15

Meanwhile a successful prosecution of Kungfu Buffet in Phibsborough Shopping Centre, Dublin 7 was carried out by the HSE.

Dr Pamela Byrne, chief executive of the authority said in the lead up to Christmas food safety “must be paramount". She added that the onus is on the business to be compliant. "There can be zero tolerance for negligent practices that potentially put consumers’ health at risk.”
