Diageo has announced plans to introduce a new food service at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Dublin.
The Irish Times reports that Diageo has been granted planning permission to install a new kitchen area within the brewery's public bar area.
A Diageo spokesperson told the paper, "The additional kitchen space will allow the Guinness brewers and the food team from the Guinness Storehouse, to work closely together to develop seasonal menus that perfectly complement the latest experimental brews on tap at the Open Gate Brewery."
US Brewery
The news of the introduction of a food offering at Dublin's Open Gate Brewery arrives in the wake of the opening of the first US Guinness brewery in 60 years in Relay, Maryland, on Friday August 3. While Guinness itself will still be exported to the new American brewery from Dublin, brands such as Guinness American Blonde Lager will be brewed locally.
