Chefs from Cork gathered for a special mentoring workshop at Cork Institute of Technology this week to support the Chef De Partie Apprenticeship Programme.
The workshop was held by Fáilte Ireland to assist existing industry mentors who have apprentice chefs de partie in employing the necessary coaching and mentoring skills. This forms part of Fáilte Ireland's strategy to respond to the skills shortage that exists within the culinary industry.
"Helping Fill Vacancies"
Head of tourism careers with Fáilte Ireland Paul Hayden commented, "Fáilte Ireland continues to work in partnership with industry and education bodies in the development and roll out of the National Chef Apprenticeship programme, which is aimed at helping fill vacancies in the tourism and hospitality sector. We hope the Chef De Partie and Sous Chef Apprenticeships will produce the next generation of great Irish chefs. The mentoring workshops supported by Fáilte Ireland assist existing industry mentors to support the apprentices through their career path and become the leaders of tomorrow."
