The Big Grill Festival has returned to Herbert Park, Ballsbridge for its third year, serving up BBQ dishes from some of the best Pitmasters until August 14. The event, which has nearly doubled in size compared to the previous year, is expected to welcome 20,000 visitors.
Those attending will be able to watch demonstrations on a variety of BBQ techniques and flavours, seeing first hand the difference between South American and USA style low 'n' slow cooking methods. Dishes on offer will include whole hogs, lamb on spits, wild Irish game, Southern Style ribs and Brazilian steaks.
Chefs headlining this years event include Neil Rankin of London's Smokehouse Restaurant, John Relihan of Holy Smoke in Cork, Mark O'Brien of Barbecoa in London as well as Richard Turner of Hawksmoor and Pitt Cue. There will also be restaurants like Fowl Play, Box Burger, Pitt Bros and Asador at Herbert Park.
BBQ aficionado's will have the chance to win a place to cook in the Jack Daniel's BBQ World Championships next October, as well as trying a wide range of Irish craft beer, cider and spirits.
Tickets for the event cost from €15 and children under 12 go free.
