Aryzta, the Swiss-Irish food group and largest frozen bakery company in the world, has bought La Rousse Foods.
With Irishman Owen Killian as CEO, La Rousse operates from both Dublin and Belfast and has more than 1,300 customers throughout the country.
As reported by agriland.ie, Marc Amand, co-founder of La Rousse Foods, said; “Together, our combined strengths and ambitions leave us well placed to grow market share in the attractive premium foodservice channel in Ireland and internationally.”
According to The Irish Times, the deal is understood to be worth between €20 million and €30 million however, the exact value has not yet been disclosed. Aryzta is also planning to invest further in the future in order to push the business to the top of the premium produce market.
The proposed acquisition has been notified to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. The deadline for any third parties who wish to make submissions regarding the merger is Thursday the 6th of August, 2015.
