The Limerick International Food Truck Festival is currently underway in the city's People's Park and will run for he duration of the June bank holiday weekend, offering attendees the chance to indulge their taste buds with treats from more than 60 food trucks that have travelled to Ireland from 14 different countries.
According to The Limerick Leader, the foreign food trucks are also be joined by a whole host of local and national traders with culinary offerings ranging from some of the most exotic foods imaginable to fresh twists on old favorites such as pizza, pasta, fries and sandwiches.
Food Truck Association of Ireland president and Mexican Food Dudes co-owner Alan Woods stated that "Since we announced the festival, we have been getting mails and messages from all over the country and across Europe. From what I can gather, most hotels are pretty full with limited availability. It's the first year of the event and the buzz around the city is very good. There has been a lot of interest in it across the board."
Upwards of 40,000 people are expected to attend the event, which started yesterday (Thursday June 1) and will run until Monday (June 5) in the People's Park, Limerick, from at 11 am each day.
