Dublin's food scene continues to thrive with more new openings of pop-up restaurants, cafes and healthy eating establishments in recent weeks.
Oliver Dunne of Cleaver East and Bon Appetit in Malahide has taken over Fiorentina restaurant on Parliament Street and launched an Italian pop-up restaurant, which will be open for just 16 days. The days open will be spread out over four weeks, from Wednesday to Saturday, with the pop-up currently in its second week.
Kale isn't the first thing that comes to mind when hearing about a new cafe opening in Dublin. However, Hill Street is now home to 'Koffee and Kale' for those wanting something healthy with their morning coffee. Like most of Dublin's latest cafe openings, it serves gourmet coffee, healthy salads and sweet treats in the form of cake and doughnuts.
The 375 square metre building that houses Pete's restaurant in Sandymount Village, as well as a three-bed apartment above it, has been bought by a Dublin investor for around €1.25 million. According to the Irish Times, the restaurant pays a rent of €40,000 for the ground and basement areas, which has an open-plan dining area, a wine bar and pizza oven.
The demand for healthy eating restaurants shows no signs of slowing down as 'Chopped' opens up another new premises in Dublin. Its latest location is in Rathmines and is the eight iteration of the popular health food chain. RTE reports that Chopped founder Brian Lee has plans to open two more new outlets in Tallaght and Sandyford soon.
Aungier Street welcomes another business to its area with the launch of 'Network'. There isn't much information yet regarding this new minimalistic looking cafe, but it ticks the main box of serving 3FE coffee.
