Ireland's largest whiskey producer, Teeling's Distillery, has celebrated its first year in business at the Dublin Liberties. The company invested €10 million when setting up in Newmarket and became the capitals first fully operational distillery in over 125 years.
It currently employees 55 people, has hosted over 30 events, served 25,000 measures of whiskey and welcomed 60,000 visitors through its doors. Over the past twelve months the distillery has become Ireland's fastest growing whiskey brand, has won numerous awards and exports to over 40 countries.
Commenting on this milestone, Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of Teeling's said; “It has been a busy but successful year for the Teeling Whiskey Company. A key highlight for our distillery this year was being been named the World’s Best Whiskey Visitor Attraction at the World Whiskies Awards. We hope to continue to grow our visitor numbers further over the next year as well as host more events within our visitor space. This is a really exciting time for Irish whiskey as the industry continues to evolve. Looking ahead to the next year, we will continue to innovate and release new expressions of Teeling whiskey as well as further expand on our presence overseas.”
