The Midleton Distillery Collection, Irish Distillers’ online shop, has announced the expansion of its direct-to-consumer offering to new European markets, including Italy and Spain, to meet demand for its whiskey brands.
The collection is home to whiskey brands including Jameson, Redbreast, Midleton Very Rare, Powers, the Spot whiskeys, Method and Madness, and Knappogue Castle.
Prior to the expansion, consumers and corporates from the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom – Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland – Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia and New Zealand could purchase and ship directly from the platform.
“[The] Midleton Distillery Collection is a destination site which provides consumers with unique and personalised Irish whiskey offerings that they can’t get elsewhere,” said Louise Tevlin, e-commerce manager.
“Today we are delighted to open two more European markets to support the growth of our brands, with plans to open the Netherlands and Austrian markets before the end of the year.”
The Midleton Distillery Collection also offers a corporate gifting service, which is designed for users who wish to gift colleagues, customers, clients or business partners throughout the year, to mark company successes and milestones or to celebrate seasonal holidays, such as Christmas.
This is after recent research by the Midleton Distillery Collection revealed that 22% of Irish businesses plan to send gifts to clients, partners or employees overseas this year.
According to the Midleton Distillery Collection, a key feature of the corporate gifting service is the option to have products from a single order shipped directly to multiple recipients in different locations around the world. Tracking information for each individual recipient is also provided.
Businesses with a corporate gifting account can make bespoke orders from Irish Distillers’ entire portfolio of award-winning Irish whiskeys, as well as rare, exclusive gifts and merchandise, including a range available only to customers with a corporate gifting account, with the option of personalising select gifts with a name or message.
“It is no surprise, therefore, that demand for the service has grown in the 12 months since it launched,” said Tevlin, “and now corporate customers can send gifts to even more locations in Europe, just in time for the 2024 gifting season.”
