The first week of FEBVREUARY, a month of wine discovery organised by Febvre wines, got off to a great start this week, with both trade and press getting involved in the action.
The Tuscan Lifestyle tasting hosted by Dante Cecchini of Banfi Wines from Italy showcased a selection of wines of great character, including a vertical of three Brunello di Montacino vintages.
Louis Fabrice Latour, who has built a reputation for combining tradition with innovation as President of Latour Wines, engaged his audience by presenting the 12 individual wines which told the story of innovation at Maison Louis Latour over the last century. The Latour Domaine covers over 50 hectares and includes the largest collection of Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy.
During the second week of FEBVREUARY, billed as '21 Wines 21 Days', tastings of interesting and unusual wines will continue each day at Febvre showrooms in Sandyford, Dublin. Open only to trade and press, be sure to make an appointment to visit. There you will also see Le Verre de Vin wine by the glass technology in use, as well as the ranges of Eurocave wine cabinets and Spiegalau Glasses.
Noel MacMahon, Febvre’s Wine Educator, will host a tasting “Not the Usual Suspects” in the Candle Bar, Kelly’s Hotel, 36 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 at 4.00pm on Monday 8 February.
Award-winning journalist, Fiona Beckett of www.matchingfoodandwine.com makes a welcome return to FEBVREUARY this year after a very successful visit last year. This time, Fiona will travel all over Ireland taking in Enniskillen, Belfast, Galway, Dublin and Cork. Her presentation will be adapted at each venue to suit the individual menu at each restaurant. A common theme will be how food seasoning affects your wine choice.
Watch out for what’s on during week three of FEBVREUARY when we have lots more very interesting events coming up. Trade and Press should visit www.febvre.ie/events to see the calendar and book a place.
