The third week of Febvreuary took the Febvre team all over Ireland and it was another massive success.
Fiona Beckett of marchingfoodandwine.com held workshops on 'The Six Secrets of Food and Wine Pairing' in Anair Restaurant, Galway, three sessions in Drury Buildings, concluding with Coco Restaurant, Belfast.
Those who attended came away both enlightened and more adventurous in how to pair food with wine.
Dante Cecchini, from the famous Castello Banfi winery of Tuscany, hosted a lunch in Wexford matching the Banfi wines with excellent food from the kitchen of Greenacres Restaurant.
Dante then travelled to Kilkenny that evening to lead a master class in the Lyrath Hotel, Master Cellar.
On Wednesday, he hosted a dinner in Drury Buildings matching his wines with the food specially prepared by executive chef, Warren Massey.
Febvre portfolio tastings were also held in Co Down and Armagh.
Meanwhile, the start of the final week of Febvreuary takes a new twist when Richard McLelland of Williams Bros. Brewery, will host a matching of craft beers with food in FXB Bull & Castle in Lord Edward Street, Dublin 2 on Monday.
Febvre will be showing Cakebread, Benziger and Joseph Phelps wines from California at the Wines of California Tasting in the Merrion Hotel on Tuesday.
Later the same day, Mary Dowey, Wine Editor of The Gloss, will lead a ‘Taste Tuesday’ event when she matches Champagne Taittinger with food from The Exchequer Wine Bar in Ranelagh.
A Febvreuary wine tasting will be held in Killarney on Wednesday, and a special welcome to Adrien Duboeuf-Lacobe of Georges Duboeuf from the Rhone Valley in France who will be showing his wines.
A highlight of the week on Thursday will be the arrival of Ana Martinez Bajunda, the fifth generation of the Bajunda family, to Dublin to host a Conde de Valdemar Gran Reserva Vertical Tasting to include1973, 1978, 1981,1985,1987,1989 and 1995.
The final event of the month will take place in County Antrim with the hosting of a Febvreuary Wine List Tasting.
