Deliveroo's recent expansion into delivering alcoholic drinks has now seen it team up with Heineken's new brand, 'Innovators Brewhouse', to sell the company's beers and ciders across 15 sites in London, Bath and Cardiff.
Heineken's new brand will be listed as a separate outlet on Deliveroo's website, with orders planned to be delivered within 20 minutes. Although the initial launch is limited, there are plans for it to be rolled out across more UK cities by the end of the year reports, The Telegraph.
Innovators Brewhouse is described as an "innovation space, open to entrepreneurs, inventors, universities, suppliers and great beer minds," with its aim being to "collectively shape the future of beer and cider through invention and shared development".
In the UK, Deliveroo currently operates in more than 75 towns and cities and was valued at around £1 billion after undergoing a $250 million round of funding earlier in the year.
Over the past year the on-demand food delivery service has launched its Deliveroo for Business, partnered with 206 Milano and PizzaExpress restaurants, provides a breakfast delivery service and has been investing in its own kitchen space for restaurant partners. However, there is increasing competition for market share from the likes of Uber Eats, Amazon and Just Eat, the latter seeing sales soar and is currently investing in a number of food technology start-ups.
