Coca-Cola was the biggest spender on outdoor advertising in the Food & Beverage sector in August, according to the latest Posterwatch report from PML Group.
The soft drinks giant accounted for approximately €448k worth of spend as it ran an extensive OOH campaign promoting its range of products: Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and Coca-Cola Life.
Coca-Cola was overwhelmingly the biggest spender on OOH in the sector in the period, with the next biggest spender being Rowntree's Randoms, which accounted for €204k worth of spend, and HB, which accounted for €177k worth of spend. Other big spenders during the period included Lucozade Energy(€165k worth of spend), Ballygowan Sparkingly Fruity (€154k worth of spend), and Fanta Rock Shandy (€140k worth of spend).
In terms of categories, Telecoms once again top the leaderboard this month with an OOH spend of just over €2.15 million, just ahead of Soft Drinks, which accounted for €1.33 million worth of spend.
According to the report, "Eircom Group was the top advertiser, having run campaigns for eircom Bundles, eircom Broadband and Meteor Bill Pay on OOH. […] Diageo was the second highest advertiser, running campaigns for Guinness Hop House 13, Smirnoff Ice Double Black, Smirnoff Red and Smithwick’s Blonde."
