Wine Australia is bringing its Australia Day Tasting to Dublin’s Royal Hibernian Academy on January 27, featuring for the first time a consumer tasting session alongside its invitation-only trade masterclass.
Part of the Australian Wine Fair 2016, the event is set to showcase more than 200 wines from 44 wineries – 15 of which are seeking distribution in Ireland – with the aim of encouraging both trade and consumers to discover new regions and varieties
A ‘focus table’ featuring Australia’s signature varieties Chardonnay and Shiraz will also explore the history and evolution of these two grapes across the regions.
Wine Australia Head of Market UK and Europe, Laura Jewell has described the Australia Day Tasting event as a comprehensive opportunity for Irish trade and consumers to experience premium Australian wines.
“We encourage everyone to attend our annual event to celebrate the diversity of Australian wines from a snapshot of our 65 unique regions,” she said.
“Ireland remains a strong market for Australian wine and this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to refresh your knowledge in our exceptional portfolio of premium wines.”
The Australian Consumer Wine Fair takes places on Wednesday, January 27 at the Royal Hibernian Academy from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Tickets cost €15 and are available now on Eventbrite.
