The newly refurbished Maldron Hotel in Cork is up for sale with a guide price of €6 million.
EveningEcho.ie reports that the day to day running of the 3-star hotel wont be affected by the sale, which is operated by Irish hotel group Dalata, who operate the Maldron and Clayton brands throughout Ireland and the UK.
Cork's Maldron Hotel has 101 rooms, leisure facilities, as well as a restaurant and bar. It currently has an annual rent of €400,000 which runs to 2030 and is expected to rise in the future. The sale of the hotel is described by DTZ Sherry Fitzgerald as a “prime commercial offer” and is likely to appeal to a wide range of investors due to it being located so close to Cork's Cultural Quarter.
Meanwhile, after undergoing a €2.8 million redevelopment, Tralee's 4-star Ballygarry Hotel and Spa in Tralee has launched their new Brasserie restaurant. Hotel owner Padraig McGillicuddy began the work last September, according to the Irish Independent, with the project also including construction of a new entrance and traffic system, an extra 90 car parking spaces, toilet facilities, storage rooms, more office space and a guest lounge.
