FBD Property and Leisure has applied for permission to expand and upgrade the Castleknock Hotel and Country Club in Dublin, a €5.5 million investment.
The planned development will add 46 rooms to the four-star hotel, creating an extra 20 jobs in the hotel and 100 during the construction phase. A new aerobics suite and five new treatment rooms will also be added to the onsite day spa.
Speaking about the upgrade, FBD's chief executive David Kelly said that the company, which is owned by Farmer Business Developments, is building to meet the current demand for extra hotel rooms in Dublin.
“We know that the demand for hotel rooms in the capital is high and growing, while the supply of new rooms has stagnated in recent years.”
The company also owns and manages the Faithlegg House Hotel and the Tower Hotel in Waterford, as well as two resorts in Spain.
