Dublin's four-star Clarence Hotel, co-owned by U2 duo Bono and The Edge, has recorded a sizable profit for the sixth successive year, generating €434,228 profit last year.
The hotel also saw a boost in revenue, helped by U2 performing the final leg of their world tour in Dublin, reports the Irish Examiner, with a spokesperson for the Clarence saying the hotel "is very pleased with the improved performance" in 2015 and that "we have a positive view on 2016".
According to the newly-filed accounts, the 50-bedroom hotel increased its employee numbers from 36 to 37 and staff costs grew to €942,277.
Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, The Edge along with financier Derek Quinlan and developer Paddy McKillen are all listed as shareholders of the hotel.
"There is an overall increase in the numbers of visitors in the Dublin market, people want quality for their money and The Clarence places a strong emphasis on quality service, which helped achieve high occupancy throughout the year," added the spokesperson.
